Real Estate on Manasota Key
Manasota Key is located in the southwestern corner of Sarasota County across the Intracoastal Waterway. Access is by one of two bridges, one is in Sarasota County and the other is in Charlotte County. Manasota Key Road runs the length of the island with properties on each side, many of them bay front and gulf front. The Sarasota County section of Manasota Key is completely residential with the northern most section gated. The Charlotte County section is residential with a few businesses. The far south end of Manasota Key is a state park and wildlife sanctuary. The population of Manasota Key is approximately 1,400 and the zip code is 34223.
Currently homes range from approximately $1,000,000 for a 4,000 square foot bay-front home with gulf and bay views and deeded beach access to a new 2 acre gulf to bay gated estate with 5,300 square feet that is listed for $5,900,000.
Manasota Key Beaches
Manasota Beach on the north end has showers, restrooms, free parking and picnic area with tables. The beach has a fairly sharp slope with waters that go to 5 or 6 feet quickly. This is a great beach to find sharks teeth, you can purchase a "Florida snow shovel" at nearby stores to find them. See images to the left, we took these at this beach. Across the street is a boat launch to the bay. There is plenty of parking on both sides of the road.
Mid-key you will find Blind Pass Beach with picnic tables, showers, restrooms and a nature walking trail. It is a very quiet beach area. A perfect beach to get away from busy beaches.
Englewood Beach is the most popular on Manasota Key with picnic tables, grills, showers and restrooms. The beach is very wide.
Stump Pass Beach is the most southern beach on Manasota. This is a quiet beach that runs all around the southern tip of the key to the bay. A beautiful beach to enjoy solitude.
